Burning Down Something Beautiful
This might be the saddest thing I've ever drawn. When I started this comic strip in February, I envisioned the Palehose Six sailing into the Post Seas through a canyon raining confetti. That is not our fate.
Well, I guess the Good Ship just wasn't seaworthy. Now, Cap'n Hand and the crew have a few months to build a bigger and better Palehose VII! (And I sincerely hope there WILL be a Palehose VII. Please, Please!)
You were the indirect voice of reason this year. Thanks for a great year - all the work you did was reflected throughout the responses off your strips.
I, as others have said look forward to the Palehose VII. Go get 'em, Captain Hand.
Thanks for all the time you've spent on this comic strip. It's been a delight reading the strip and seeing how many others you entertained with it throughout the season.
Looking forward to more of your comics, no matter what the subject.

Oh no, this is too sad! I'm in tears ... And last night I played the Opening Day video from the Cell, and I cried my eyes out watching it.
I just can't make any sense of this -- what happened?!?!?!?!?!?!
Well, at least you made me chuckle in the midst of this debacle.

The pirates are fat and rich with their '05 bounty. Hope we get some skinny and poor pirates for '07.

Thank you for being the consistent bright spot this season. I look forward to christening the palehose 7.
It is sad to see the end of this season coming so soon. I hope that you continue to write these comics next year.
it wasn't meant to be, i guess.
thanks for the laughs Carl!
I have never been so depressed. Thank you for keeping the spirits high during the season.
Thanks for everything this year, Carl. I never felt bad for long after a loss after I got through reading your strip on the game.
The voyage of the Palehose VII will be much more successful.
I am sad, sad,sad.
Thanx Carl, in a way you made this loss a teeny tiny bit less devastating.
wake me up when september ends
Ships can be rebuilt and patched.
Keep in mind that there will be three ships worse than the Palehose Six sailing into the Post Seas this trip!!!
I must say that reading this strip helped me to know I am not alone in this emotional roller coaster. Thanks and here's to next year!

Carl, great strip this season and I hope to see one in 2007. Rongey and I made it a point to check it out during the postgame.
