Well the thing with Pods is it doesn't seem like he's putting forth a hard effort. BA is continually hustling his ass off in the field (and making damn good plays) while Pods seems to just float out there, getting bad jumps and all. Also, BA actually has shown improvement, batting in the .280 range since June 11, while Pods has been consistently mediocre.

Paulie has lied to the captain! Paulie was quoted before the loss tonight saying the playoffs last year have left the team not mentaly fatigued but physically fatigued. Adding they just don't have much left in the tank.
Yes that grueling extra 12 games you played last year for the world series title, every players ultimate goal, accompanied by $12,000,000 a year and four months straight off with no work in the offseason can be very grueling. I can see his point...grurgle uhumga blahpst... that's the sound of me throwing up in my mouth.

I have a new nickname for Pods. It's PodSUCKnik.
Maybe it was all the garbage last year I heard about Pods being better than Jeter. Even beating him out for an All-Star spot last year. Where is he this year? Reverted to form.
Tha Bankees won't make it out of hte first round of the post seas, but at least they will be there.
Pods was an All-Star in '05 because he had a better first half than Skitter. By your logic, you have to agree that Pods is a better slugger than the Babe, because Pods out-homered the Babe 3 to zero in '06.
